… and to the visits from across the sea. But we can welcome
the autumn even we all fear that ‘winter is coming’. But well, with that so are
the posts in my blog so let’s all be merry!
I have to start back this season talking about food and
drink, as it’s the engine that keeps us going. No food, nothing to burn to keep
us rolling –rolling in the deep- and no
excuse to get close to a warm fire to enjoy the long nights.
I know it’s a bit too early and we’re still counting on the
Indian summer but just in case it doesn’t happen, let’s start listing the pubs
with good food, good drinks, and cosy fireplaces. One of our old time favourites being the
Albion in Islington we’re you’re also entitled to superb meat! – Although for
some reason I’ve heard that the Sunday roast doesn’t live to the expectations.
It’s a great place to meet with friends and enjoy a proper
gastro pub meal – maybe I like it more in the day time, unless the weather is (super)
nice and you can enjoy the beer garden (beware that it closes around 10pm so if
you want to have an al fresco dinner make sure you make the arrangements
accordingly as they will not serve you outside after 9pm) – but any time is
actually good to hang out with the cool people from Islington.
Great pub, lovely neighbourhood, cool people - what else can you ask for? Just make sure you check out the specials to see the latest in meats ;-)
