Carnaby Street

Short name, and short length of street but so many things to see and buy, be careful! There is always something going on, either there is a music festival, or some sort of exhibits, or the sales... so my advice is to visit it either early in the morning - don't worry until 12 or so you're safe - or then in the evening once the shops are closed. Looking on the bright side, this will drastically reduce the risk of spending all your salary.

This is a pedestrian link between Oxford St and Soho, running in parallel to Regents St, so it's totally understandable and predictable that it will be packed. Any clothes store that wants to have a name in buzzing London, has to have a branch here - and it does. So it's also quite convenient because you have everything that you may need. Just don't forget to wander around the side streets for more shops, bars, restaurants, hidden tables in the sun, more shops, and more pubs.

Last year it was Carnaby St's anniversary, and that explains why it has always been linked to the movements of the senventies: give it up for rock and roll!

Oh! and if you come around Christmas time - in this city anything after Halloween -  don't forget to check the lights in this street.
