Shoreditch's graffiti scene

English summer time is here so it's the time to leave the indoors and enjoy the greatness of the outdoors. For the ones keen on the 'alternative' here are some tips to enjoy something different, especially if you're into street art and food markets - you always gotta eat!

In Shoreditch, between Rivington Street, Curtain Road, Old Street, and Shoredicth High Street there are high levels of alterntiveness so there is plenty to enjoy on a regular basis but now even more thanks to the street markets, some offering more things than food.

The first one you can come across, although it depends on where you access from - my case from Old Street - is The Red Market that was still a bit quiet at noon but it was open! This market has been usually a 'late night' market but it is open for lunch now. I missed the DJs and all the alternative things that the organise for the evening, but there was quit a fair amount of different stands with different food from pizza  to steak and even a Caribbean BBQ.

Continuing through Rivington Street you can just be fascinated by the graffiti... some of them have been there for years, actually most of them. The old time favourite 'Scary' just in the tunnel where the Overground runs (above)...

Once you get to Shoredicth High Street there are 2 more food markets; one is the Shoredicth Food Village where other than really comfy sitting they have an Argentinian Grill and then the BoxPark that offers a few choices for food (and shopping) and a sitting upstairs.
