Opposite to what The Pet Shop Boys used to sing, this is the time to Go East; and being one of my favourite areas of the city, there will be a considerable amount of posts about this area... beware!

Shoreditch is where people meet the alternative, or the alternative meet people - if you've read the post of 'Something Different' then you will be familiar with this term already, as it's actually it is the same part of town. I have to admit that I'm a late connoisseur of Shoreditch, considering when I started to go around Shoreditch since I first visited or even moved to London but well, we've become quite close.
Feelings aside, it's time to get down to the juicy details... Rivington St holds a fair amount of bars, pubs and restaurants as do Curtain Rd, Old Street and Shoreditch High St. You can just walk around and decide what you prefer to eat or drink. Just so you have it in mind you can easily arrive there around midday and never leave - you're close enough to Brick Lane where the party never stops.
Most of the places have backyards, beer gardens, or even little patios so you can enjoy the nice whether (such as this #englishsummer) when it actually arrives.
