Patio dinning

One of the things that this summer is finally bringing, is the fact that it is warm enough at night to have dinner outside. We find ourselves in this perfect romantic setting for a really nice dinner that we would only finish it with a glass of champagne - it was a dinner with a couple of friends, so it wasn't our first choice but the pub we wanted to go had some issues with the kitchen and we had the luck to end up here.

As a good fan of Primrose Hill, I have walked up and down Regent's Park Road plenty of times - already explained in detail in a previous post about the Hill - and I had always wanted to try this fabulous little restaurant called Odette's; what I didn't know up until this past weekend is that it had a gorgeous patio at the back.

They offer a tasting menu where you are able to try a fair amount of delicacies from Mr. Williams, the chef, it all looked mouth-watering. However, we decided to go for a la carte, as we were not too hungry - or that was the initial theory because it was all so good that I could have easily tried more dishes.

Both of my friends decided to choose the lamb, whilst I went for the trout; we also shared a tomato salad - I have to start stalking these chefs that are able to get amazing tomatoes in this city - and some asparagus with morel that were delicious. For the wine we decided a Pinotage, after a trip to Cape Town is one of my favourites - Spanish wines aside -, a pistachio cake with apple for dessert, and champagne to wrap up the amazing dinner.

With all this amazing dishes with all the combined flavours and attention to detail, you could understand that the restaurant is not cheap, although the make good deals for during the week early dinners, and on Sunday for lunch.
