Meat Liquor

Burgers are a London highlight in 2013 - each day there are more and more new places competing to have the best burger in town, all major restautant websites, blogs, food criticts, etc. have their own rankings, there are mobile apps just dedicated to burgers and there is a growing culture among friends to go and try burgers out in different places. In fairness, I have to ask who doesn't love a good burger? - or even a bad on...

One of the most famous places is Meat Liquor, located in a hidden corner behind the buzz of Oxford St, in a corner that if it's not for the queue that you're likely to see outside, you could miss it! But you don't want to miss it so make sure that you keep your eyes open - or simply follow the scent of meat in the air.

The minute we walked in I just loved it, the dark, the graffiti, the music, the trend... and the smell of burgers! The food menu is simple and varied enough - the swiss mushroom burger is highly recommended so the chicken wings are - but the list of cocktails is quite large; you can spend quite some time trying to choose the best one or you will just have to spend quite some time drinking  - unless you choose a couple of cocktails that they will only serve 2 per head. Just remember their motto, 'no food, no liquor'.

All the food comes along in the same tray, so be preapared to eat with your hands and get dirty. If you're fuzzy about getting your hands deep in sauce, then this is not your place - your loss!  Also, beware that they don't take reservations so you're likely to have to queue outside, and they will not give you a table if anyone from your party is missing. I just hope you enjoy as much as we did!
